I am a descendant of Col. Stephen MOORE of Mt. Tirzah, Person Co. This morning I received a letter penned by William E. Webb and dated 25 March 1963. In it he describes a 10 year effort to publish an account of Stephen MOORE'S descendants. A Durham genealogist named J. Alton  Price was cited as having made significant contributions to the effort. Mr. Webb cites the need of $800-1000 to complete the work. A fellow researcher has gone through the Webb papers at UNC and has not found anything that resembles what Mr. Webb described in the letter. I can't imagine that the supporters of the project, including one of my uncles, would allow 10 years of work not to achieve its goal. I, and my fellow MOORE family researchers, would appreciate any information that your members might have  about this project. I would be happy to email you a copy of the letter if you wish. And, in the event you are not aware, a portrait of Stephen Moore was discovered about two years ago.
