"I am a direct descendant of Andrew HUGHES (1755-1843), who lived in Orange County, North Carolina, during the 1770s and fought with a North Carolina militia unit during the Revolutionary War. A transcript of his pension application provides further details about his ties to Orange County and is available at: http://revwarapps.org/w25805.pdf.
