"My Great, Great, Great Grandfather, James C. DIXON/DICKSON was born 1798 in Orange County, North Carolina.
There is a marriage for a James  C. DIXON and Salley FRESHWATER, 30 April,1822.
This probably is  my James C. Dixon but have not been able to prove it is for sure.
James is listed in the 1830 census for Orange County, N.C.
James and his first wife and children moved to Perry, Clay County, Indiana in 1833.
My Great, Great Grandfather, Benjamin Franklin DIXON was born there 1834.
James' first wife died between 1834/1840. James married Mary Elizabeth Jones CHADWELL, widow of George CHADWELL in 1840.
James is listed in the 1840 census for Perry, Clay County, Indiana
James and Elizabeth moved to what is now Cooke County, Texas in 1846.
They are listed in the 1850 census for Cooke County, Texas.
James is listed in the tax roll 1856 & 1857.
Elizabeth is listed in the tax roll for 1858 & 1859.
I have been searching for his parents for over 30 years.
A DICKSON cousin did DNA testing. My DIXON/DICKSON line is the following.
DIXON
T1b1b1a
This DNA profile shows that this line of DIXON/DICKSON families are from Ireland.

Any help will be greatly appreciated."
