"We are trying to find a record that proves the parents of Mary (Polly) MANGUM Other than census records, we only have a marriage certificate which doesn't list her parents. Here is what we know (or think we know):
b. about 1836 (possibly in March in Orange County) NC
m. George ELLIS 28 Sep 1859 in Orange County, NC
d. after 1880 (possibly 18 Dec 1903 in Durham County, NC)
Her father was Jesse MANGUM (b. about 805 in NC and died intestate about 1852) Orphan's Court Records perhaps???
Her mother was Mary PARISH (b. about 1800 and d. after 1860 in Orange County, NC)
Any help appreciated!"
