The Trading Path Receives Award

At the NCGS Annual Meeting held on October 3rd, 2015, the D-OGS Trading Path journal received the "award for excellence in periodical publishing for a journal published by a North Carolina genealogical society." Journal editor Ginger R. Smith accepted the award.

NCGS had this to say about The Trading Path:

"This substantial quarterly is well laid-out and very readable with consistent and documented content. The reader can follow articles between issues with ease. The journal contains a good variety of articles that focus on Durham and Orange counties including abstracts and transcriptions of court records, newspapers, and city directories. It also features memories of family members and community residents, historical pieces, some general how-to genealogy articles, and a full-name index. The Trading Path clearly offers what genealogists want to see: lots of names."

D-OGS is very proud to receive this award. We are a small organization, but we believe in giving back to the community by preserving records of value and offering access in a logical and coherent manner and we feel this is achieved with The Trading Path. The Trading Path journal is available to all of our members free of charge and can be purchased by non-members for a small fee. Back issues of the journal are also available.

Thank you NCGS for this wonderful award!
